The Car Is Down on Power: Read the Code
Short answer: if the engine light is on and the car feels down on power, read the code before you decide how far to go.
Plug the V310 lead into the 16-pin OBD-II port and turn the ignition on. Open Read Codes, then View Freeze Frame.
Live data on the screen
Where the car provides them, live data can include engine speed, coolant temperature, vehicle speed and calculated load. Clear the code after the fault is fixed. If the fault remains, the light can come back.
