Engine Light After Refuelling: Read the Code
Short answer: if the engine light comes on after you fill up, read the stored code before you guess.
Plug the V310 lead into the 16-pin OBD-II port and turn the ignition on. Open Read Codes. The DTC button shows a code meaning on the screen.
What else the menu shows
View Freeze Frame keeps the snapshot saved with the code. I/M Readiness shows which monitors are complete. Clear the code after the fault is fixed.
